Support Ben Cole’s climb of Mount Kilimanjaro in memory of Mitchell Cole and in aid of the Cardiomyopathy Association

Ben Cole will be climbing Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro at the end of September this year. The aim is for Ben to help raise funds for the Cardiomyopathy Association – a group his brother, Mitchell Cole, was very involved in. Mitchell suffered from a condition called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopothy (HCM), which is an enlargement of heart muscle. As a professional footballer, Mitchell was an ambassodor for the CMA and helped raise awareness about this little known condition.

“I trust that my friends and family will do everything they can to support me in everyway possible as this is for a great cause and it’s something that would be amazing for me to achieve for my big brother.” – Ben Cole

About Mitchell Cole

Mitchell James Cole (6 October 1985 – 1 December 2012) was an English footballer. Cole was forced to retire from professional football in 2011 as a result of a deteriorating heart condition, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, that meant it was dangerous for him to continue playing competitive football.
